Drones & UAVs
Active optical correction for sharper, more stable imaging in compact aerial systems.
Augmenteum’s technology offers major advances in key elements such as field of view and aberration correction that can potentially be transformative to a drone’s optical system performance.
Augmenteum’s solid-state adaptive optics layer can enhance the performance of compact drone cameras without requiring changes to a manufacturer’s core architecture. Our thin, transmissive liquid-crystal elements integrate directly into the optical path and dynamically correct low-order aberrations—defocus, tip/tilt, astigmatism, and thermally induced distortions—in milliseconds. This provides sharper imagery, higher effective resolution, and more consistent visual performance across wide fields of view and demanding flight conditions.
By reducing reliance on mechanical focus systems and compensating for gimbal vibration, temperature drift, and lens-tolerance variations, the technology enables lighter payloads, improved autonomy inputs, and more reliable data for imaging, navigation, and analytics—wherever drones have to fly.
